“Let Love Win” is dedicated to The Fabulous Sylvester, most famous for his disco anthem, "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)." I listened to the wonderful Sound Barrier podcast documentary series about him and learned so much about his life and musical background. In the eighth episode, "Hard Up," there was a segment about Sylvester's traumatic relationship with The Church. Ever since have been thinking about how queer Christians reconcile their faith and sexual identity. So I wrote "Let Love Win" in dedication.

Enjoy and Happy Pride!

Lyrics

“Let Love Win”

Never a doubt or a question
Always knew I had a place
My body and soul, in full possession
In step with your amazing grace

But when I showed up with sincerity
Into myself began to bloom
You closed the door to sanctuary
And kept me from the upper room

I wandered far in search of family
With only faith, a wing, a prayer
I knew I made a discovery
When I found love built four square

No more in need of confirmation
See, I no longer give a damn
Your words and fears can’t chain me
Because I know how great I am

Let love win

The love you feel it comes from deep inside
Don’t let them tell you it can be denied

Let love win

I’ll be standing here eternally
With open arms ‘til you decide
To trade your tolerance for tenderness
Oh, happy day, full of pride

Let love win

The love you feel it comes from deep inside
Don’t try to fight it, it can’t be denied

Let love win

The love you feel it comes from deep inside
Don’t let them tell you it can be denied

Let love win

The love you feel it comes from deep inside
Don’t let them tell you it can be denied
